Witch's Tale


Designed as a dark fairy tale, and drawing influences from Tim Burton and Lewis Carroll, A Witch's Tale sends players on a journey to beat back an army of monsters that are terrorizing the peaceful kingdoms of the world. The game stars Liddell, a sassy witch-in-training who, while exploring an old castle for a forbidden spell, unwittingly unlocks an ancient tome and releases the evil Eld Witch. The Eld Witch, in retaliation for her earlier imprisonment at the hands of Queen Alice, takes out her revenge on the sitting princesses of the land. Even though Liddell did not intend to bring destruction to the world, she agrees to travel throughout the six kingdoms; slaying monsters, solving puzzles, helping citizens, and attempting to rescue the imperiled princesses. The various kingdoms are home to a number of anthropomorphic dolls, each of whom may join Liddell's party to provide either attribute boosts or actual physical support. Battles are turn-based, with four options available to players at the outset of combat: Attack, Magic Attack, Item, and Escape. Attacks require simple physical combat, while Magic Attacks involve gamers using the stylus to drag one of seven different magical runes onto enemy icons. As players progress through the story, Liddell and her doll companions will increase their skills, unlock new areas to explore, and collect a variety of intriguing cards.
