A usb cable is a usb cable, and insulation and gold plating are just simply NOT neccessary, you would have to go through 6 regular cables before the purchase of this cable would be justified.
As one of the other wise reviewers stated, Monster is notoriously overpriced, and are infamous for insulating and gold plating cables that quite frankly are just for looks and have no functional value what-so-ever. Customer Review: High quality cable. Nice looking. A little pricey. The cable works flawlessly and charges the PS3 controller quite a bit faster than the stock USB to mini-USB cable. I’ve seen other 10′ cables that range in price between $8-$10, but am still pleased with my purchase.

Monitor came I love it, cables came a few days later, i was so excited to see the picture. My heart sank and i was furious to see the horrible picture that resulted. I had the same ghosting, poor color, as everyone else stated. I did some research and blamed the problem on the fact my monitor’s native resolution of 1680×1050 is not supported by the xbox360 therefor the problem is not the cable, its the picture being distorted as it trys to put it on the monitor. I put up with the bad picture since i had nothing else to play on and hoped for an update from M$ to support my resolution. Then these piece of @$@% cables REALLY messed up, replacing half the colors it showed with yellowish and green faded colors, then after restarting my 360 got the red lights of death. I plugged in the old cables and the 360 worked fine. Moral of the story I’m out $20, and i dont have the packaging for these cables. I bought this cable only because I know that VGA is the only way to get 1080p output unless you have a newer Xbox with an HDMI port. I originally was using the component cables that came with the Xbox and the picture looked wonderful, but I thought it might be even better. I was aghast when I hooked this VGA cable up. To say it displays a little ghosting would be a gross understatement. Several other reviewers have described it perfectly. The picture is horrible above 640×480 and there is a ghost image of everything about an inch to the right. On my 47″ LCD, the image is disgraceful. I will take their good advice and exchange this for the official Microsoft version.
